Glossary
of Kiwi Terms

Most bakery websites don’t require a Glossary of Terms. However as you’ve likely figured out by now, Wiseys Pies & Bakehouse ISN’T most bakeries. With an authentic Kiwi at its helm comes an authentic and THICK! (read: occasionally indecipherable) Kiwi accent – as well as authentic (read: “what the heck does THAT mean?”) Kiwi sayings and slang.

So we thought we’d help you out and offer you some typical Kiwi-isms that will help you navigate our site as well as the bakehouse when you come to visit….after arriving in your UTE or maybe your Holden (if you’re well and truly cool) with your mates on your smoko for some sweet as, hand-crafted Kiwi-inspired kai (maybe a nice mince pie or slice, with a bevvie from the chilli/eski or a hot, flat white to wash it all down, unless you’re a ratbag and you’d rather a fluffy topped with 100’s & 1000’s of course), while in your comfy jandals or trainers (but no togs please, cheers!). You can chat with the Gary and Karen about the All Blacks or Art Deco style. ; )
